This policy explains how proof-of-play billing disputes and payout holds are handled.
1. Scope
This policy covers disputes about:
It does not replace court process, payment-provider chargeback rules, or mandatory consumer rights available under South African law.
- Whether a proof-of-play event should have been billed to an advertiser.
- Whether a driver wallet credit or payout was calculated correctly.
- Whether campaign delivery evidence supports a charge, reversal, or reserve hold.
2. Advertiser proof disputes
Advertisers may file a dispute against a billed proof-of-play event within **14 days** of the billing record appearing in the advertiser audit log.
Supported reason codes include:
Filing a dispute:
- Not in geofence or target area
- Vehicle stationary or not in service
- Display off or creative not shown
- Wrong creative played
- Duplicate play
- Low-confidence or invalid proof
- Other material billing discrepancy with supporting detail
- Creates a dispute record linked to the proof ID.
- Marks the proof as disputed in the audit log.
- Mirrors the dispute to the platform reconciliation system.
- May pause settlement of the contested amount while review is open.
3. Evidence review
RYDCAST operators review available proof evidence, which may include timestamps, GPS or proximity data, media-player telemetry, creative fingerprints, QR session data, moderation history, and account notes. RYDCAST may request additional information from the advertiser or driver.
4. Outcomes
After review, RYDCAST may:
Billing charge entries are immutable; upheld disputes are recorded as separate reconciliation entries referencing the original proof.
- Reject the dispute and uphold the original charge.
- Uphold the dispute fully or partially and issue a reconciliation reversal or credit.
- Pause related campaigns or accounts where fraud or repeated abuse is suspected.
5. Driver reserve holds
To protect against billing disputes, RYDCAST may hold a percentage of driver earnings in reserve for **14 days** after a payout cycle locks. Open disputes tied to the cycle may block reserve release. Upheld disputes may result in forfeiture or reallocation of held reserve amounts according to platform rules.
6. Payment-provider disputes
Payment-provider chargebacks or reversals on wallet top-ups are handled under provider rules and may result in wallet debits, account suspension, or campaign pauses independent of proof disputes.
7. Escalation and governing law
Parties should first use RYDCAST support and the in-platform dispute workflow. Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, platform disputes are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
8. Changes
RYDCAST may update dispute windows, reserve percentages, reason codes, or review procedures as the platform matures.
